Chemtek attended the 2019 Tennessee Chapter American Public Works Association (TCAPWA) Conference in Chattanooga last week (November 5 – 7). At the show, we featured PavePro Green, our 100% biodegradable asphalt remover, and NeSilex, our silica dust suppressant. This was a great opportunity to connect with cities in Tennessee and educate attendees on how they can improve operational efficiency and safety by integrating these solutions.
The trip kickstarted with a tour of the RoadTec Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility. Located in Chattanooga; all attendees had the option to attend the tour. Witnessing firsthand the amount of work and care put into each piece of equipment was a unique experience, and definitely worth coming a day early. The finished products possess a level of finesse unparalleled.
The trade show officially started November 6, with a Rodeo Equipment awards show and booth exhibit time in the afternoon. The Rodeo took place earlier in the day, with participants completing skills tests and obstacle courses for time. The trade show continued on November 7, with exhibit time all morning through the afternoon. Technical sessions were also held, along with another awards presentation recognizing standout members of the chapter.
Overall, this conference was an excellent opportunity to learn about the struggles facing many public works departments in Tennessee and offer valuable, time-saving solutions. It is great to see a chapter of the Public Works Association function so effectively and collaborate to discern current best practices. Chattanooga was a wonderful area with welcoming and hospitable people.
Next year’s conference will be held in Memphis, Tennessee from November 16 – 18.
